St. Francis of Assisi is a mixed 11-19 Catholic Comprehensive School situated in a semi-rural location on the eastern fringe of Walsall Local Authority within the Archdiocese of Birmingham. Primarily, we are a Catholic school and are concerned with developing the whole person, spiritually, morally, academically and physically. Our children are given daily opportunities to learn more about their faith and to live their faith by showing care for, and good example, to others.
Currently the school roll is just under 1100 students. This size allows us to offer the full range of facilities expected of a Catholic secondary school without sacrificing the sense of individuality that we attach to each student. Great emphasis is put on academic excellence. The school motto “Nil satis optimum” (Only the best is good enough) reflects our traditional values. High standards of attendance, work, dress and behaviour are expected from every member of the school community; this stems from the belief that each child has individual, God-given talents the development of which the school strives to nurture and support.
