Welcome to the St Bede Learning Resource Centre

• The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) aims to be a whole school resource centre, providing relevant, varied and up-to-date resources for the social, recreational and educational needs of both students and staff.
• The LRC aims to incorporate the core values of the school into all its work, specifically Catholic Ethos and Technology Status.
• The LRC is open throughout the school day as follows:
Monday – Thursday
9.00 – 16.30
Friday
9.00 – 16.00
• A full-time Chartered Librarian is available throughout the day to advise and assist with enquiries.
• Students are entitled to borrow 2 books at a time (4 for Sixth Form) and keep them for 2 weeks.
• The LRC provides a wide range of print resources, including books, magazines, newspapers, and university prospectuses.
• The LRC also supports students’ learning through technology, providing 15 computers and a laser printer. Electronic resources provided include an online library catalogue and access to information databases via the school VLE.
• A range of events and activities take place throughout the year, including Walsall Schools Book Quiz, Carnegie Shadowing Reading Group and World Book Day activities.
• Sixth Formers have a dedicated study space, which is designated a silent area. This room has a further 16 computers, as well as desks for individual study.
