What do students think about psychology?
Student voice: “Psychology is a captivating and challenging subject. It gives me a chance to explore fascinating areas of human behaviour such as memory, conformity, personality and mental illness. Psychology is a truly energetic subject in which I am required to participate actively in many lessons, and the variety of subject matter is fascinating. No two psychology lessons are ever the same, with role plays, experiments and activities, there is always something different to capture the imagination.” Leanne Martin (2006)
Student voice: “Psychology is a subject which helps understand the way in which the human mind affects the actions and states of human life… Psychology has changed the way I view the world and is the most interesting subject I have ever studied. I am now continuing my interest by studying the subject at university where I hope to eventually progress to become a psychologist. I have enjoyed the course throughout and will continue to do so.” David Morris (2006)
Student voice: “Psychology is really interesting and I have really enjoyed learning more about the memory and how exactly it works. The practical experiments have been particularly helpful as they go into depth about a particular subject we are studying. Miss Phillips and Mrs Miller are extremely helpful, and are always there to lend a helping hand when support or guidance is needed.” Sinead Cooke, Y12. (2007)
Student voice: “Throughout the last 2 years I have enjoyed psychology more and more as my knowledge of the subject develops. No psychology lesson is ever the same as the previous, and every topic covered has new and interesting theories to be studied.
