At St. Francis, pupils follow a 3 year curriculum for KS3 (years 7 - 9) and then progress onto KS4 (years 10-11) where we follow the AQA Specification A syllabus in both English and English Literature. There are some cases where your teacher may decide that concentrating on English is the best thing for you and advise against entering for Literature; however, the majority of students study both and take 2 G.C.S.E.s at the end of year 11.
Should you decide to continue to study at St. Francis during KS5 (the sixth form), we follow the AQA Specification A syllabus in English Literature. Currently, we are unable to offer English Language or English Language and Literature.
