English at 'A' Level
'A' Level English requires a great deal of background reading; there are two areas on which you should focus:
- General reading
- Reading specific to the units within the subject
I have provided a Reading Page with links to specific areas for certain authors and a Timeline Page that should help you to place some texts within their historical, social and literary context. Although they are at present incomplete and really need to be used together, these will be constantly updated; if you have a strong argument for the inclusion of a specific author, literary movement or text - let me know (email address below).
