Year 8 PE Independent Study Assignment
The week beginning Monday 29th October saw all students in year 8 being involved in a variety of sporting activities as part of their Independent Study Assignment for PE. Instead of traditional written homework, students were required to sign up for and attend at least one extra curricular activity. A range of activities were put on exclusively for year 8 students ranging from golf to cheerleading. If only homework was always this much fun.
The activities that were on at lunchtimes included football, rugby, basketball, trampolining, dance, badminton, table tennis, gymnastics and volleyball. These activities were all very well supported and the students worked with enthusiasm and good spirit. Activities after school included yoga, health and fitness, Speed Agility Quickness (SAQ), Boxercise as well as the very popular activities of golf and cheerleading. Students embraced the activitities and a good time was had by all. Some students really made the most of the opportunities and attended a number of activities both at lunchtimes and after school. A big well done goes to these students. There will be another PE ISA week for year 8 students to look forward to later in the academic year and hopefully further opportunities for students to pursue their sporting interests.
