School Network Access from Home
You can now gain access to the school network from home. Before using for the first time, please follow the instructions below.
Do also remember to copy files onto your USB storage keys as a backup.
When accessing files, always copy them (by dragging) to your home PC to work on them, then copy them back to the network. Try to avoid editing files directly from the network via the work from home facility.
Instructions
- Click on the appropriate link above.
- When asked to install certificates, select YES
- You will be prompted for your username and password
- Enter your school username and password (unless using VISTA, then enter your school email address as your username)
- You will be asked to install certificates again, select YES
- You should then see a number of options:
- My Documents - select this to open your My Documents area
- Staff Documents (only available to staff) - click this to open the Staff Shared area
- Shared Documents - select this to open the Public Shared area
- You can now drag files backwards and forwards between your home computer and the school network.
- Remember: Which version of the file you are working on.
- Remember: Put the document back on the school network if you need it at school.
