About Us

Admissions

Join our great school, where the whole community leaps together towards excellence.

Life at SFA is rich in opportunity and activity. Students can be ambassadors of curriculum subjects, form the Liturgy group which steers the Catholic Life of the school, can be part of the Student Council and help write a Student School Improvement Plan, and take up a role in the Student Leadership Team, led by our elected Head Boy and Head Girl. Students complete the Duke of Edinburgh award through to Gold and showcase their sporting achievements at inter-school fixtures and competitions and our annual sports day. Musical talents are showcased at school concerts and in the community.

The school day is further enhanced by our brilliant catering team who create healthy, nutritional and varied culinary treats. A termly food offering showcases global foods and celebrates key events in the calendar so that students are always well catered for with an excellent diet.

Homework club is open to students at the end of each day where staff will support students further learning and engagement and subject enhancement opportunities also take place such as the History Club and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) opportunities.

Educational visits and trips at home and abroad are frequent with an annual ski- trip, Modern Foreign Language trips to France and Germany, religious retreats to Alton Castle and a Year 7 residential to an activity centre for team building.

To apply for a place at SFA an application must be made to the Local Authority by 31st October 2021

The admissions process for St Francis of Assisi Catholic College is part of the Walsall Local Authority coordinated admissions scheme.

To apply for a place at SFA an application must be made to the Local Authority in which the parent lives by 31st October 2021. A Supplementary Information Form (SIF) must also be completed and returned directly to the school by the same date. All forms are available on the school website.

Parents will be advised of the outcome of their application on 1st March 2022, or the next working day, by the local authority on behalf of the school.

Whenever there are more applications than places available, priority will be given to Catholic children in accordance with the over subscription criteria available on our website. There is no year group that comprises only Catholic students and we welcome applications from non- catholic families as we expect all parents to give their full, unreserved, and positive support for the aims and ethos of the school.

The governing body is the admissions authority and has responsibility for admissions to this school with the number for entry to Year 7 being set at 180 students for September 2022.
