School Uniform
School uniform is an important part of our culture at St Francis. It supports a sense of belonging, is grounded in equality and is an outward sign of our faith.
Uniform is a leveller, meaning that points of difference between students are removed, which in turn reduces any stigma or social pressures, thus allowing for a much greater focus on school work. Our uniform is another way that we reduce any pressure on students who might worry about latest fashion trends, affordability or peer pressure because all students are dressed in the same way and are therefore treated equally as peers.
Students should not just wear their school uniform but they should also wear it correctly. Adaptations to the uniform or nuances that students may try to find, are a choice to go against the fundamental reasons of having a proud uniform.
