Daily Routines
The School Day
Students at St Francis have staggered break and lunchtimes. Therefore, there are times when lessons P2 and P4 are split.
Students have 3 minutes between the end of one lesson and the start of another.
Overall school day schedule:

Email Protocols
At SFA we value the well- being of our staff. With this in mind we ask our staff to only send work emails between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday.
We understand that some staff do work in the evenings to suit, in this case please send your emails on a ‘Delay Delivery’ option, ensuring it is delivered within the days and hours stated above.
Staff Duties
Every member of staff is expected to do at least 1 break duty a week. We are all responsible for the Health & Safety of everyone so please ensure that you are on time for break duty and remain on duty until students have left your designated area. You are responsible for sending students back to class at the correct time if you are on 1st or 2nd break as there is no bell. If you know that you will be absent then swap your duty with someone else. Be active in your observation and care of our students.
Staff Debrief
Every fortnight on a Tuesday there is a full staff de-brief. This will take place in the dining hall at 3:30pm. This is where we come together as a staff body to celebrate the excellent practice going on around our school.
Staff Breakfast
We have a weekly staff breakfast in the dining hall from 8am. The day changes every half term to ensure all staff get to benefit. It is a lovely time for staff to come together, and so that SFA can say thank you to its staff and all their hard work.
Pop Ups
During the day we have pop-ups that appear on the boards to help staff keep to timings of lessons and know where students are meant to be. They are especially helpful during periods 2 and 4 when break and lunch take place.
Meditation
On a Friday Mrs Ferris leads in a staff meditation in the chapel. It is a chance to come together, be present and still at the end of a week.
Guardian Angels
During Advent and Lent on our calendar staff are given the opportunity to be guardian angels to one another. This can be through gestures of kind words, gifts, or other tokens of appreciation. Emails are sent out regarding these opportunities at the appropriate times.
