Post 18 Launch

We aim to ensure that our students are well prepared for life after the Sixth Form. They will develop a clear understanding of the wide variety of routes that are available for them to pursue such as choosing to study at university, securing an apprenticeship or employment. Throughout their A level studies, our students receive ongoing careers guidance and support from our Careers Advisor and the Sixth Form Leadership Team which will enable them to select wisely when it comes to their Post 18 pathway. In addition to this, we support and engage our students to develop the skills and attributes that are needed to succeed when progressing towards studying a university course or entering the world of work. The students also have the complete a work experience placement whilst completing their studies with us.

Important Dates

Personal statement and covering letter deadlines

Thursday 12th June – students must submit their first initial draft of their personal statement and/or an apprenticeship covering letter.

Wednesday 16th July – students must submit their second draft (now including their work experience placement).

Friday 19th September – Oxbridge students must submit the final version of their personal statement.

Friday 17th October – all other students must submit the final version of their personal statement and/or covering letter.

Application deadlines

Friday 26th September – SFA application deadline (Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine/Science).

Tuesday 15th October (up to 6p.m.) – UCAS deadline for Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine/Science.

Friday 7th November – SFA deadline for all applications.

Wednesday 14th January (up to 6.p.m) – UCAS deadline for all other applications.
