Attendance

Our Sixth Form Attendance procedure includes the following:

1. A student meeting initiated by the Student Support Learning Mentor upon a student’s return from absence.

2. Communication sent to parents/carers if there is no communication of absence by our Attendance Officers.

3. Communication sent to parents/carers via ClassCharts if a student’s attendance is below 96% by Student Support Learning Mentor.

4. A letter communicated to parents/carers via ClassCharts if a student’s attendance is below 94% by our Assistant Head of Sixth Form.

5. A telephone conversation with parents/carers if a student’s attendance is below 90% conducted by our Assistant Head of Sixth Form. In addition to Year 13 student having their sign out privilege removed.

6. Parental meeting if a student’s attendance is below 85% with our Assistant Head of Sixth Form. There will also be a risk of a student jeopardising their Sixth Form place and paying for their A level examinations.

7. Parental meeting if a student’s attendance is below 80% with our Head of Sixth Form.

Sixth form students are permitted to enter the school via Reception until 8.55a.m. afterwards, they must then enter the school via the Student Entrance. All students must arrive on time for their form period, all lessons (including Catholic Social Teaching, Maths and/or English resit lessons, private study and Pomodoro). At lunchtime, students will be able to go off-site by signing out with a member of the Sixth Form team and they must sign back in before 1.10p.m. If they are late, this privilege will initially be removed for one week.

If your child arrives late to school, has a medical appointment or is unwell, inform our Attendance Office by using ClassCharts or by telephoning the school.
