Mobile Technology

Any form of mobile technology must be switched off, out of sight and never heard before they enter through reception or the Student Entrance. The items must kept in their bag whilst they are not in the Sixth Form Centre. Mobile phone use can be used in an appropriate manner in the Sixth Form Centre. If the device(s) are seen outside of the centre, not used appropriate inside the centre or in a lesson they will be confiscated. Mobile technology may be used under the instruction of a member of staff within a clear time frame in a lesson. The sanctions for not following the procedure are that the item will be collected at the end of the day which a detention the next day.

On the second occasion there will be a detention the next day, parents/carer contacted, and item will be collected at the end of the next day.  Thirdly, a detention is set for the next day, parents/carers contacted, and meeting and item will only be returned at the end of the meeting. We would appreciate your support enforcing this rule, which we have implemented with our students’ wellbeing in mind. If you need to contact them, call the school office.  Students are not allowed to bring their own laptops or tablets into school.
